Yule, also known as the winter solstice, is on its way Witches ❤️🌲🌲❤️

It is the longest night and shortest day of the year. From this day forward to summer solstice, the Sun will linger a bit longer in the sky each day. Shedding His life-giving light over the land. Ever so slowly warming the frozen earth. And for that reason, one of the main focuses of our Yule festivities is the celebration of His return to power.

Celebrating Irish beliefs and traditions sounds fabulous to me. As a matter of fact, whatever little inkling of recognition I do show for this holiday is done with the sole intent of honoring Irish culture, language, history, and ancestry.

I can only begin to imagine the many aspects of Irish culture that we as Pagans can celebrate on this day.

The Yule Tree

The tree is one of my favorite Yule traditions. It is such a delightfully fun activity to engage in, and it brightens my home at a time of year when things can start to feel pretty dreary.

This year I put up my first Yule tree in Northern CA.

I have lived here for three holiday seasons without one, so it's feeling pretty good to 'get back to it'. She is very simple. That's for sure. But I love Her a whole bunch.
