This delightful little herb is often used to flavor liqueur.
A fragrant culinary herb, winter savory is best sprinkled onto food just before serving. If you are a fan of salami, you may recognize this herbs flavor as one of its main ingredients.
Winter savory is believed to act as a stimulant, both physically and psychologically. This belief lent favorably to it acquiring a reputation as an aphrodisiac.
Some say that it serves no purpose as a medicinal aid. However, it has been used as an appetite stimulant, and is confirmed by research to be effective carminative and antiseptic gargle.
